Wow, quite an eclectic mix.

Of course, this is a pretty inaccurate assessment of what our actual favorites are. Alice D. Millionaire is my #1 song according to iTunes. While I love that song, it's not nearly one of my favorites. But if I have 2 minutes to listen to music, I put it on!

But my #2 is the Candyman from 2/24/74 which is actually one of my favorite songs, possibly my favorite version of that song, and an all-time favorite show.

I do also have 2 Dark Stars in my top 25:
- DP 36 (09/21/72)
- 11/02/69

yeah, i laughed when i saw my top 25. i can't even pronounce some of the stuff on there!

and, yeah, most played (or, more accurately, most played to completion) is not necessarily the same as favorite. a lot of my top 25 are songs that i have had on my itunes since i got it so, naturally, they have gotten more play. and a shorter tune may get played all the way through more often than a longer one because there is less time for the listener to actually skip it (one of my top 25 was actually a 6 second drum sample that accidentally made it into my "favorites" playlist and comes and goes without even being noticed). and in my case, most of my music is played via my main ipod (not my gd-only one, as i often use the archive for gd if i am at home), which gets used for personal listening as well as social situations where i have to cater to people who aren't up for a 45 minute playin'. in fact, my number 2 tune was a huge shocker because i couldn't really even remember it by name, but when i listened i realized that it was on several different playlists that all got a lot of action a few years ago. still a good jam, but certainly not one of my favorite songs.

love that 2/24/74 candyman, btw. great solo.
